The music is loud and the lights are trained on the stage – the show begins!
Yesterday I went with a group of friends to Wycombe Swan to see the Panto ‘Cinderella’.
To be honest I was never a fan of Pantomime as a child, but I now find it highly amusing and often find myself laughing out loud at the adult jokes which are scattered lavishly throughout the show. For those couple of hours you can completely forget the everyday stresses of life and ‘getting ready for Christmas’ and be transported into a world of make believe!
In true Panto style Cinderella was ill treated by two highly amusing and ‘over the top’ dressed Ugly Sisters, who flamboyantly paraded across the stage showing no compassion to their hardworking sister, and to be honest as expected were overtly villainous!
The role of Buttons was played brilliantly as he caused great laughter with his funny take on the world. And the Fairy Godmother swept in from a high, and made the wishes of Cinderella come true, with magical waves of her wand.
The outcome did not distract from the joy of the journey, as the audience were fully engrossed, with the ‘he’s behind you’ and ‘oh no he’s not!’ being shouted with much conviction. And the boos and hisses, bounced around the Auditorium.
Cinderella got her Prince and of course ‘lived happily ever after’ – and I guess many adults thought…’if only life was that simple!’
As for me – I hoped the message from the Fairy Godmother hit home with the audience of children and adults, and was not just limited to Cinderella herself.
‘You can have whatever you dream for’
and
‘hold onto your dreams don’t let anyone else steal them from you’
Because with regard to making your dreams come true in the world of Property Investing you have to do some hard work, just like Cinderella did at the beginning of the story.
Unfortunately success is not achieved by waiting for the flash of the wand and the sprinkling of the magic fairy dust. Villainous people do not get magic’d away, and the trials and tribulations of everyday life can’t be transformed with a click of the finger and a magic word.
Sure the ‘rags’ to ‘riches’ stories exist, however people like to believe it all happened overnight, but the truth is such success is rarely rapid. It has been achieved through having the willpower and strength of mind to drive forward consistently and daily, over a period of time. Driving towards dreams when many people and situations seem to be pushing against you and looking to steal them from you – just like the Ugly Sisters.
